KOMONO LAKE, a three-piece unit influenced by city pop, Showa-era Japanese popular music and soul/R&B, releases “内臓のままに.” The strikingly direct title marks the unit's final single of 2023. With a relaxed atmosphere, it reminds listeners of bodily sensations that can become dulled by everyday duties and work. Memorable synth and guitar phrases frame a year-end message of appreciation for people who have worked hard throughout the year. Formed in 2021 by Taiwan-based singer Kanbin, London-born producer SKYTOPIA, also known as a former member of Kero Kero Bonito, and bassist Kuroji, whose support work includes Night Tempo, KOMONO LAKE released its first album “SUNSHOWER” in 2022. Following a Taiwan tour in January 2023 and the singles “春砂漠” in April, “One By One” in May and “Silence” in November, this release closes the year.
