luv began in June 2023. Its first release, “Motrr,” is self-produced and rooted in funk R&B and jazz hip-hop. Guitarist/vocalist Hiyn and drummer Sho connected through sessions while in high school. Bassist Zum joined after being called in at short notice to play a show in Osaka from Shiga. Keyboardist Rosa, whom they met through a jazz club and regarded as a remarkable talent, immediately accepted the invitation. DJ Ofeen, Hiyn's childhood friend with similar musical tastes, also joined. The five musicians create an addictive sound through assured playing and distinctive lyrics, moving listeners' hearts. Before long, listeners may find themselves humming along and looking to the right.
