Guitarless three-piece band ココラシカ released 「踊りまくっていいじゃないか!!!」 on July 1. The self-produced track is packed with the unpretentious sensibility and pop appeal that come naturally to its 20-year-old members.
The song carries the sentiment, “Even when something unpleasant happens, let's try dancing anyway!” It is a pop tune that offers the courage to step just five centimeters outside everyday life. Even when you are feeling down, a moment to clear your mind and dance might be enough to make you think, “It isn't all bad.” The song expresses that modest wish through a light-footed sound.
With the ease and down-to-earth language distinctive to ココラシカ, the lyrics 「考え出す前に手を挙げて」 and 「踊りまくっていいじゃないか!!!」 affirm the idea of stepping a little outside everyday life. Together with a buoyant sound that makes you move instinctively, they give the song a convincing sense of reality.
Their previous songs strongly reflected their musical outlook as a band. This time, driven by a desire to reach even more people, they pursued the strength of pop music by paying close attention to every detail, from lyrics and melody to chords and arrangements. The track was mixed by engineer 照内紀雄, whose work includes Vaundy's 「Tokimeki」.
The band have also confirmed an August appearance at LuckyrFes’26's Lucky Space at Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture. They have scheduled their self-hosted event 「POP STEP DANCING」 for later this month, in late June, with BLACK BERRY TIMES and やさしいみらい as guests.

ARTIST
ココラシカ
Formed in 2021 when three people with different personalities met in the light-music club at Tokyo Metropolitan Saginomiya High School. A guitarless three-piece band of 20-year-olds pursuing pop tunes under the theme of “a glass of music to get drunk on.” Their song 「恋よ、踊り出せ」, released while they were still in high school, attracted attention mainly through social media. In 2024, 「花瓶」 was selected as the ending theme for the Yomiuri TV drama 『未成年～未熟な俺たちは不器用に進行中〜』. Music critic 柴那典 has named them a potential breakout act for 2026 alongside kurayamisaka, スーパー登山部, Rol3ert, ハク。, and Oddre:, who were selected for “RADAR: Early Noise 2026.” They deliver retro pop built on the freshness of being 20 and a sense of nostalgia.
