Singer-songwriter MALIL will digitally release the new single “Whatcha” on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. It arrives around a month and a half after the previous single, “Pure,” released in August 2026.
“Whatcha” is a pop number with a light, beat-driven sound and a memorable chorus that repeats the phrase “Whatcha.” Its protagonist thought they were done with love, only to fall for someone again. Asking that person to accept their moody, lonely and selfish sides too, they press them with the question, “Whatcha gonna do for me?”
Shifting away from the clear, airy band sound of “Pure,” this release brings the beat and rhythm to the forefront, layered with MALIL’s bold and charming vocals. MALIL wrote the lyrics and music, with arrangement by Gouya Iwanari.
A range of short videos set to the track has also been posted on social media, each expressing the world of “Whatcha” through different expressions and atmospheres.
