New Alternative Music ◤FTZone!!◢

Billyrrom / Mirror Ball

Billyrrom is a six-piece group from Machida with roots in disco, soul and funk. Released ahead of the album on October 2, “Mirror Ball” is the closing track on the band’s major-label debut album “P‘I’CTUS,” released on October 21.

The album’s lead track combines an urban sound with an approachable melody. “P‘I’CTUS” is said to tell a single story across all 11 tracks, in connection with a short story by band member Rin. This song offers a way into that world.

みふく / Continue

みふく is a soft collective based in Mishima, Shizuoka, active since 2024. On “Continue,” released on October 7, soft soul forms the foundation for analog synthesizers with a cosmic sense of space and gentle nylon-string guitar.

At the heart of the song is life continuing in the presence of loss. Rather than trying to forget sadness or rushing to overcome it, the song puts words to the days leading into winter.

新川莉子 / とけない背中

This is the first single released by the singer-songwriter formerly known as ゆうさり after switching to their real name, 新川莉子. Released on October 7, “とけない背中” was recorded as 新川莉子(合奏), together with 佐藤日向子 on bass and 椿三期 on drums.

Distorted guitar and fast-paced rhythms are overlaid with a voice raised in song. Continuing a hands-on approach that extends to mixing and artwork, this track captures the first step under a new name through the sound of a band.
