Kommune and Reugene Release Collaborative Single “tempus”

Music unit Kommune and rapper Reugene released their collaborative single “tempus” on Wednesday, January 15, through CLEWAXING, the creative label to which Kommune belongs.

Last year, they released their first EPs, “CARDINALITY” (Kommune) and “Asobiba Hiroba” (Reugene), around the same time. Both also held release shows at Shimokitazawa SPREAD, a live venue known for drawing music enthusiasts with an ear for new sounds, exciting a packed audience. Spending time together through live shows, sessions and other musical activities, the two acts were drawn to each other and brought their respective states of mind to this song.

Kommune’s characteristic flowing ambience, heaviness and mellow vocals blend beautifully with Reugene’s impulsive rap, creating a cinematic work.

The song speaks of encounters and partings in their surroundings, and the uncontrollable emotions they bring, portraying people as they change over time.

Konfig handled the beat and mastering, while Eugene Takino mixed the track. Taiwanese artist TAI YI FEI created the artwork specifically around the song’s concept.
