About KOMONO LAKE
A three-piece unit with a sound influenced by city pop, Showa-era Japanese popular music and soul/R&B. Formed in 2021 by singer and illustrator Kanbin, London-born producer SKYTOPIA, also known as a former member of Kero Kero Bonito, and bassist Kuroji, whose support work includes Night Tempo, the group released singles and EPs in quick succession. Their music has featured on a range of official Spotify playlists, including “シティポップの今” and DJ HASEBE’s “TOKYO GROOVE.”
They made their terrestrial TV debut on MUSIC B.B. in 2022 and spent a month presenting a program on FM Yokohama, among other media appearances. In November of that year, they released their remotely produced debut album, “SUNSHOWER.” A successful Taiwan tour followed in January 2023, as they continued their energetic activities across borders.
They made their first festival appearance at MOMENT FESTIVAL @ BANK30 in February 2024.
