R&B singer-songwriter SANDEI digitally released his second single, ‘Count on me’, on Wednesday, January 21.
Within a ‘ravaged world’ where his heart is battered and he feels cornered—hurt, unsteady and alone, even on the verge of breaking—the song sends encouragement from his future self: ‘Count on me’ and ‘Let it go’. It expresses a positive determination to acknowledge weakness and still move toward the future.
Musically, a powerful beat meets SANDEI’s mellow, rhythmic voice over a midtempo, laid-back pace, creating a contemporary R&B track. As on the previous single ‘MAKE IT’, sound production is by rising beatmaker A.G.O, whose work includes releases by Ayumu Imazu, SIRUP, eill and many other accomplished artists.
SANDEI has been attracting attention: ‘Moonshine’, digitally released in 2022 under his former name sangdei, surged in popularity, while his 2024 digital release ‘Concrete Jungle’ became a talking point on Instagram Reels.

A singer-songwriter based in Tokyo. Influenced by hip-hop while incorporating music from many genres, he is known for a unique, one-of-a-kind sound.
Under his former artist name sangdei, his 2022 release ‘Moonshine’ amassed around 1.2 million plays across major streaming services despite his being an unknown newcomer (as of July 2025). His 2024 release ‘Concrete Jungle’ also drew attention, with around 170,000 plays on Instagram Reels.

A Tokyo-based beatmaker and producer. Specializing in groovy production that combines live instrumentation with forward-looking sounds, he also handles his own arrangements and mixing. His work for SIRUP, Ayumu Imazu (a recipient of the 2024 Japan Record Awards Special Project Award), BE:FIRST, Furui Riho and 佐藤千亜妃 has attracted attention in Japan and abroad.
Beginning with the release of ‘Think Twice feat. Yoshi T.’ in 2024, he also stepped up his activities as a solo artist.
