Emerging from YouTube, Hyogo-based singer-songwriter ちたへんりー is beginning to earn recognition in many quarters for clear vocals and a strong musical sense. The captivating artist’s 2022 release “さいだー” was used in a JAL web commercial this summer.
“ファンタジー,” due out on December 11, is the third in a run of three consecutive releases. Over a stylish, somewhat mysterious, truly fantastical arrangement, the song suggests that the world we lose sight of as we grow older might offer a clue to living in the present.
Alongside the track comes the announcement of a collaboration beer with Derailleur Brew Works, whose brewery is based in Nishinari, Osaka.
“Derailleur” means “one who strays from the path = one who chooses their own way of life” in French. True to that spirit, the brewery creates unique beers with ideas and a mindset unbound by convention or a single route. This partnership began when a brewer happened to watch a livestream by ちたへんりー in May this year and fell in love with the voice. The brewery then released “ADVENTURE FRIDAY NIGHT PLAN,” a homage beer incorporating the world of the original song “ぼうけん.” That connection developed into this collaboration.
The collaboration beer is a “FRUIT PUNCH IPA,” promising a fruity flavor.
The label uses the cover design by ヤナギダマサミ, an artist known for a distinctive visual world, making the product fantastical in both taste and appearance.
A release event has also been announced for December 15 (Fri.) at スタンドうみねこSiB100 (シブヒャク), a bar directly operated by Derailleur Brew Works. Located in Shibuya’s Hyakkendana area of Dogenzaka, it opened in August this year.
