Filmland, based in Tokyo, released their digital single “Swiss Army Man” on August 29.
This track centers on the band's indie folk soul while layering new impulses. It unfolds from a serene intro, bursting through the quiet with its chorus, then unleashing overwhelming elation through a blazing guitar solo. A percussive ensemble pulsates with tribal beats, while vocals fueled by rage release all its intensity.
Combining a grand scale with aggressive power, this track shakes the listener's heart, drawing them into singalongs, enveloping the whole body in a dramatic unfolding where stillness and movement intertwine.
Takafumi Hino (Gt., Cho.) handled the lyrics, composition, and jacket design, while Sota Okamura (Ba.) handled the mixing and mastering.
