Singer-songwriter Michaela released her third digital single, ‘Chasing’, on Wednesday, February 18.
‘Chasing’ delicately portrays not only Michaela’s own inner world, but also the emotional uncertainty, lingering attachments and contradictions everyone carries. Combining gentleness and strength, it quietly encourages anyone trying to take a step forward while wandering through a forest with no right answers.
Though wrapped in soft, airy sounds, tight drums anchor the track and give its structure a firm core. In candid language, its lyrics carefully express regrets in love and life, struggles with realities one must face, and the intensity of feelings for things one still cannot let go of.

ARTIST
Michaela
Michaela is an R&B singer based in Tokyo. Familiar with Black music since childhood, she drew on those roots when she began pursuing music in earnest four years ago. Today, she is a self-made artist who produces her own songs as well as performing as a singer.
Her music is distinguished by organic production that values live instrumentation and delicate vocals with a sense of warmth. Grounded in the traditional grooves of soul and R&B but reimagined with a contemporary sensibility, her songs create space within the sound and a deeply immersive experience.
