Singer Sala, who is attracting attention with a style based in R&B and hip-hop and a clear voice, and emerging female producer me-mai, whose sound-production work includes SIRUP, teamed up for the first time on the new song ‘Palette,’ released July 22, 2026.
The song was inspired by painter Piet Mondrian's celebrated Composition series. Following Mondrian's idea of reducing a complex world to minimal elements—vertical and horizontal lines and red, blue and yellow—the lyrics place the question ‘Could life be simpler?’ at the heart of the song. In today's information-saturated world, where other people's answers and trends constantly stream in through social media and news, it depicts an introspective world of diving within and seeking one's own scenery.
me-mai's beat blends organic, Latin-inflected rhythms with guitar sounds, swaying gently like waves and inviting listeners into an introspective space.
