Sana., a singer-songwriter who writes her own lyrics, composes, and arranges her music, released her third single, “Short cut,” on September 16, 2026.
Built around the idea expressed in “なりたい何かがあるだけでいい。愛しているものだけ、抱きしめて。”—that simply having something you want to become is enough, and that you should embrace only what you love—the song depicts moving forward while accepting weakness and uncertainty as parts of yourself rather than rejecting them.
Its honest, relatable lyrics resonate as Sana. moves between a desire for confidence and a self that cannot help turning negative, encouraging herself with “こんな自分でも悪くない,” the thought that being this way is not so bad. Turning instability and the difficulty of living into energy, she sings “私は私のままで進んでいく.” That stance gently encourages listeners to keep going.

Sana.
A singer-songwriter who began her career in 2026. With versatile vocal ability as her foundation, she is involved throughout the creative process, from lyrics and composition to arrangement. Centering on R&B from overseas, she has developed a distinctive sound that combines production rooted in Black music and hip-hop with live instruments.
She has been familiar with wind ensemble music since her school days and has performed on various stages as a French horn player. Her strong influences include 1980s music such as CASIOPEA, along with R&B and neo-soul. After developing her songwriting and expressive skills at Ongakujuku Voice, she began performing solo. She also expresses her music as a guitarist with a Gibson SG in hand, and her distinctive songwriting style draws words and melodies from sessions and improvisation. Her live performances, bringing together her voice and guitar playing, have also earned recognition.
