modern times Bloom, the solo project of vocalist 中野大地, will release the new song “Life is (feat.nujikam)” featuring nujikam on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
nujikam is an Osaka-based duo comprising vocalist maki and trackmaker Kuwazuru. Centered on hip-hop and chill sounds, the song looks at anxiety and impatience about an unseen future, as well as the path traveled so far.
It reflects on seeing detours and roundabout paths as experiences that shape the self rather than failures or mistakes, and on accepting that both gains and losses were necessary to become who one is today. The song expresses a wish to stay true to oneself, avoid rushing toward happiness, and continue loving the present.
On Sunday, November 8, modern times Bloom will host the self-organized event “To each their own” at Art Beat Cafe NAKANOSHIMA, with performances by modern times Bloom, むにゃむにゃプラスチック。, and くすり.
【Liner Notes】
Feeling anxiety and impatience about a vague, unseen future,
I began counting only the things I lacked,
Until, before I knew it, I could no longer see what I had.
I have taken many detours and roundabout paths,
But they were not failures or mistakes.
They were things I gained precisely because I kept moving, even at my own pace.
As experiences, they shape who I am now and will nourish who I become.
Because I have lived without lying to myself,
There have been things I gained and things I lost.
Looking back, I realized that all of it was necessary for who I am today.
No one knows the future.
No one can see it.
That is why anxiety, impatience, and feelings of inferiority—emotions anyone can have—
Will surely remain somewhere within us.
As the seasons turn, when you are sad, let yourself be sad.
Giving up and surrendering to the flow are not the same.
You do not need to rush to be happy.
Whatever the moment, whatever version of yourself you may be,
Do not lie to yourself or deceive yourself.
So that you can keep loving the present, from here on.
